Keeping Fit and Healthy this Summer 2014

ImageHi everybody! Been almost a full year since I posted about exercising/fitness stuff! πŸ™‚
Let me just say I have improved quite a lot since talking abut fitness. I still can’t believe Nike+ changed their website so it looks different and it’s hard to get use to. But anyways since last time until now, my running has always been on and off due to my studies, but I can’t always use that as an excuse haha. But since finishing my exams around mid May, I’ve been slowly getting back into my running scheme in the morning. It feels good running because it relieves my tension and improves my inner strength. I’ve said it many times in my previous posts, but running has many benefits, you just don’t know it.

What I learnt over the course of this year is it’s not about running the fastest at measuring each lap, it’s about the end product itself. I’ve realised pacing myself over a (for example) 5K jog shows much difference compared to a fast start and slowly burning throughout. Also there’s been an increase of people jogging as well, so that’s obviously a good sign, but I need to make sure I jog at a time where they won’t be running at the same time haha. If you look at the picture above, that’s 5K = 25:16 and personally I have achieved something and I want to maintain this, better yet why not surpass it! I’ve looked on forums before and their opinions are running a 5K race between 20-25 minutes is satisfactory, and it is! I can push myself body to surpass 20 minutes but improving my cardio at that level is not my desire. Why? Well the reason behind it is because I want to increase my body muscle overall and that’s by eating more protein food and going gym regularly. Keeping my cardio consistent is one thing, and training my body is another. I don’t want to put myself as an athlete trained for 15 minutes 5K races, that’s crazy lol. Plus you do realise people who run ALOT tend to be skinnier, and I don’t like that lol. I’ve been recently taking a Protein supplement called “MaxiNutrition Cyclone” and so far so good! I’ve been bulking up in the gym, but my aim before returning back to university in September is to obtain a lean body. I will talk more about this further on, but keep in touch! πŸ™‚
